Editor and Fiction Writer

Chantelle Aimée Osman is Editor of Agora, an imprint of Polis Books, focusing on crime novels that explore culture, gender, sexuality, society, economy, and politics.  The former Editor-in-Chief of RT Book Reviews Magazine and a freelance editor for over 10 years, she co-hosts the Crime Friction podcast, and is an instructor at the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing and Lit Reactor. She is also an award-winning mystery writer. Her numerous short stories and flash fiction have appeared in anthologies, literary journals and e-zines. She is an Anthony Award nominee for The Sirens of Suspense blog, a contributor to Suspense Magazine, and has served as editor for several successful anthologies and judge for ITW awards. Previously, she was the head of business affairs and development for production companies in Hollywood and is a recurring judge for the Phoenix Film Festival screenplay competition. Chantelle holds a law degree from Arizona State University, and degrees in Psychology, French and Art History. She speaks five languages and divides her time between New York and Arizona.

Chantelle will lead the genre fiction workshop at our Laos 2020 retreat where will also offer exclusive “pitch your book” sessions to participants at the retreat.
